BSA Booster On Track For A Successful 2018

The ActiveWins-sponsored motorbike team, BSA Boosters, are used to living life in the fast lane, and the past few months have been no different. So to kick off 2018, we thought it was about time to catch-up to see what they have been up to.

Plenty has happened both on and off the track since we last had a chat with Karl Meredith and Stephen Roberts, and some of you may have even bumped into them when they were our special guests at the London Affiliate Conference in 2017. 

The team have become regular faces at the Pendine Sands competition over the years, and their annual jaunt to Wales is back on for 2018, with the diary already starting to fill with events as we progress into the New Year. So, keep your eyes peeled.

Karl said, “For 2018 we will be heading to Pendine for the UK Land Speed Records on the 12th and 13th May. 

“We’re then planning to take the Bantams to Elvington Airfield, for a speed event on tarmac which should allow us a good opportunity to achieve our best all-time speeds on the bikes.

“There’s also plans in place for the first running of European speed week in France. Currently, the proposal is lodged with the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, and although we were expecting some this year, it now looks like 2019 will be the inaugural year for the event.”

Behind-the-scenes work has continued over the festive period on a brand-new engine, including an innovative design to help propel the boys forward in 2018.

They are even close to completing a new test bike, which will allow them to try out the new engines on the public highway before any modifications take place for race day.

Karl, explained, “We plan to use our trip to Elvington Airfield as the venue for the first test of the new 350cc engine. They will eventually power the next two motorbikes that we build. So, it’s exciting times.”
